Microsoft in Talks With Square Enix to Bring Final Fantasy XIV to 360
Final Fantasy XIV's producer Hiromichi Tanaka in an interview has confirmed that while there might not currently be any plans to bring the MMO to Xbox 360, talks with Microsoft are still ongoing.
"We are still talking with Microsoft about an Xbox 360 version, but at the moment we are only working on the PS3 version and Windows version," he said.
With Final Fantasy XI proving quite successful on Xbox 360 and demonstrating that an MMO can work on the console, it seems that following it up with Final Fantasy XIV would make a lot of sense.
The PS3 and PC versions are on course for a 2010 release, which if announced could lead to a 2011 launch for the Xbox 360 version. Added emphasis on 'if'. That's a big 'if'.
